A Bit
About Me
I design thoughtful and functional experiences that help people navigate real-world complexity with ease. I'm also a home cafe barista, pottery enthusiast, and an avid traveler who plans every trip around food.
Hi, I’m Christina!
My name doesn’t have a hidden meaning (unless you count my many Starbucks misspellings), but my story begins in California, winds through the Army, biology labs, and somehow—beautifully—lands in UX design.
My first love wasn’t design—it was science. I studied biology thinking I’d go into healthcare, and even worked as a pharmacy technician. But life had other plans: I joined the U.S. Army and specialized in preventive medicine. There, I learned the value of systems, structure, and designing for impact—lessons that now ground how I think about user experience.
It was during my transition out of the military that I discovered design. I realized I could merge analytical thinking, empathy, and creativity in one space. I haven’t looked back since.
Beyond the Screen
You’ll often find me hunting down the best local eats, perfecting my home café setup, or traveling to spark creativity and gather fresh perspectives. Always down to share (or swap!) coffee and food recs—especially if you’re in Seattle.
I create intentional experiences that prioritizing clarity, inclusion, and security in every design decision.
🎯
I design with a purpose, by aligning user needs with business goals to create experiences are functional and drive meaningful outcomes.
🧠
I consider the broader ecosystem to build scalable experiences that integrate seamlessly across products and platforms.
⚖️
I work at the intersection of user insight, technical constraints, and business priorities—finding thoughtful, feasible solutions that bring clarity to complexity.
🗣️
I communicate design intent with clarity and context, enabling alignment across cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
During my time in the Army 🪖
My experience in the Army challenged me in profound ways—physically, mentally, and emotionally. It shaped my values, deepened my perspective, and instilled a level of resilience and discipline that continues to guide how I approach both life and work. Can you spot where I am?
I'm the one right in the center! (Yes, I set my face as the focal point)
My blog posts
I use writing as a way to reflect on my journey — from military to UX, and everything I’m learning along the way. These posts are a mix of case studies, design thoughts, and career transitions.
